Robin Luscombe/Les Ashby closed the gap on Robin & Gill Morewood at the top of the British championship standings to just 8 pionts at the end of what turned out to be the closest finish in the expert class for a long time. Tying on 14 with equal 0s, 1s, 2s & 5s Robin & Gill eventually lost out on furthest clean, a dab on section 7 to Luscombe/Ashby's first loss on section 9 proving decisive. Luscombe/Ashby on current form having already dropped a round must be favourite to hold on to top honours. Only 4 finishers out of 7 starters means that the top 4 are now starting to pull away from the rest with the Cuckow Brothers scoring well once again & Steve & Harvey Radford finishing in 4th.

The Clubman class was once again well supported with 17 satrters - the best on the day & sneaking into a 5 point lead in the overall standings were Tim Hawkins/Tim Sparkes. Tony & Karen Crabtree now getting back to last years form splitting the top 2 in the series with a fine 2nd place on the day just 1 mark ahead of the Pickards in third. Mark Kemp & Ian Allaway had a cracking ride to beat Glyn Hawkins/J Cheeseman on cleans.
Mick Treagus/Barry Pocock in an uncharateristic 9th slipped into 4th overall.
