PMCC Club Round 1 5th April 2009

A warm spring like morning greeted a good entry of 12 outfits for the 1st round of the Peveril Motor Cycle Club Championship of 2009. 8 experts and 4 clubman.
The trial held at Lower Ballacottier Farm consisted of four laps of 6 section through rivers and grassy banks in a Glen normally used for the two day trial and usually more overgrown.
The expert class was lead from start to finish by Jonathan Kelly /Ealsih Baxter who had an opening lap of just 2 dabs, followed by Gary Flowers/Anthony Smith 7, Mark Bimson /Julie Owen 13 & Craig Baxter/ Matthew Swales 15.
Lap 2 Kelly/Baxter lost 6, Flowers/Smith 2, Bimson/Owen 7, Baxter/Swales 11
Lap 3 Kelly/Baxter 6, Bimson/Owen leaping into 2nd with just the 1 dab, Flowers/Smith a hefty 16, Andy /Jane Birchall just now 1 dab behind in 4th.
Lap 4 Kelly/Baxter , Bimson/Owen 6, Flowers/Smith 6 and the Birchall pair loosing a massive 21.
Dougie Christian's normal passanger was taken ill so Kevin Whiteway was perswaded to step into the chair after a few years of absence, however the gassa pair retired due to mechanical problems.

The clubman class was headed out after the 1st lap by Gerry Hannay/Paul Watterson 18, father and daughter pairing of Brain /Lauren Christian 21, Jason McNee/ Luke Roberts 23, Brian &Stuart Bedford 25
2nd lap McNee/Roberts took the lead dropping just 6 to Hannay/Watterson 16,Christian/Christian 23 Bedford/Bedford 21
3rd lap McNee/Roberts kept their lead dropping 10, Hannay/Watterson 16, Christian/Christian 9, Bedford/Bedford 20
4th Lap McNee/Roberts streched their lead dropping 11, Christian/Christian took second spot dropping just 7, Hannay/ Watterson 13 (too much celebrations after the YF concert) leaving Bedford/Bedford 4th dropping 25.
