Robin & Gill Morewood returned from Spain with a bang on Sunday, not having ridden since the Manx they rode superbly to dominate the expert class.
A somewhat lacklustre Luscombe & Ashby – perhaps complacent – fell behind in the second group & went further behind in the third, never to fully recover. The Morewoods went behind in the championship series for the first time all year after missing the Mel Harrison. With both leading crews having now dropped a non-scoring round Luscombe & Ashby virtually only have to finish the Peak in order to retain the crown.

The Clubmans championship however was a different story with the ever improving Mark Hancock & Karl Jarvis returning the best score on observation only to have victory snatched away with the addition of time penalties, handing the win to the Crabtrees (again returning from Spain!!!). Hawkins & Sparkes where similarly promoted to second & now lead the series from the Pickard brothers going into the final round. The Pickards chose to miss this round due to injury & are now 10 points adrift.
